DO ONE LITTLE GOOD TODAY

Every day has some good in it waiting for our hands to express. The good that we do to others is their measure of the good that the day has for them, and there is just enough good in every one of us to benefit our neighbour. Can we do some good today?


Are you looking for an occasion to extend some kindness to someone? Are you making efforts today to be nice to someone even if they do not seem to merit it? Truth is, if God were to weigh our worth, very few of us qualify for His kindness, yet it is said that daily He loads us with His benefits.


The place where you have found yourself in life, whether you acknowledge it so or not, in some way, is a privilege. Someone somewhere envies what you have, and where you are. Someone somewhere wishes they could just have some of the things you say are inadequate. Can you please extend out of that inadequacy to someone who is desperate for some?

It is far easier to notice the things that we lack than to see the things that we have. And this is a deception. It is the deceit of life that wants to tie us down to needing more, wanting more, craving more, not letting us see that more can NEVER be enough. We will always need more. But we don’t have to stay there.

Today, my friend, be grateful for what you have received. Find the courage to say thank you God for what you have done for me. Make frantic efforts to not remember the things you lack, and even when they slip into your mind, expunge them immediately like they don’t really matter, and just be grateful for what you already have. At least you are alive, you have good health, you have food to eat, a great family, a spouse, you have data to browse and see this post, you have very many little things you can be grateful for.



Extend that grace to someone. If you have found something to be grateful for, make it your prerogative today, that someone else also has something to be grateful for, coming from you. It could be some kind of gift that would make the person’s day, make sure it comes from you.

Well, I also didn't until very recently. He became popular for something very unusual. A cool guy who doesn't want to harm others, Mahes had only one problem: his appetite. He loved to eat good food. Who doesn't? Only challenge is, Mahes could never pay for his food. He would go to a classy restaurant, order the best and possibly most expensive meal on menu, finest liquor, desserts and all. TRUE LIFE STORY OF A MIGRANT My name? You can call me Ese. I am eighteen years old, from Edo state. Two months ago, a friend of my aunt came to our house and said she could help me get a job abroad, she said she knows someone there who has been helping other people. We only had to provide about Six Hundred thousand naira for my transport to the Libya. My aunt, my mum and my elder brother all gathered the money and gave me some extra for the trip. Two weeks later, we were ready for the trip.  From Edo state, we were transported to Kano, and then Katsina, and, I don’t know the names of all the places, but they said they had to follow that particular road because of Immigration and other officers that collect money from them on the road.
