HOW TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS AS A GRADUATE The schools of higher learning in Nigeria: Colleges of Education, Polytechnics, Universities, etc, admit over a million candidates each year, and they churn out about as much each year. These people have been trained as good employees with a mindset built for job search and employment in someone else’s venture. The federal, state and local governments with all their ministries, agencies and various parastatals and all what not put together, cannot accommodate more than 20% of these graduates in their employ per year. What happens to the remaining 80% ie assuming that the 20% are totally employed? This has more than led to confusion among even those who had great visions for entrepreneurship and self employment after school.
